We currently have an opening for a Civil or Transportation Engineer at our head office in Richmond, BC.


This is an exciting opportunity for a professional civil or transportation engineer who wants to participate in shaping a rapidly growing company.  Working collaboratively with the product management and software development teams, the Civil or Transportation Engineer leads the research of new transportation software product ideas, creating new innovations, and the delivery of product presentations to potential customers through virtual interactions or face-to-face at tradeshows, industry conferences or within their offices traveling within North America and occasionally globally.


The Civil / Transportation Engineer will be responsible for the following areas:

  • Perform technical research tasks including reviewing of technical guidelines, research papers, and journals as directed by supervisor.
  • Prepare and develop AutoCAD/MicroStation drawings and product training material.
  • Liaise with users prior, during and after product launch, including alpha and beta test phases.
  • Provide product training and demonstration to both internal and external clients both onsite and through webcasts.
  • Offer input during software development phases, working closely with Development and QA teams to enhance software function, interface, and usability.
  • Assist with prototype testing as proxy to users and document feedback.
  • Assist with field research tasks including data collection and analysis from field tests.
  • Generate documentation in the form of technical issue notes, technical tips and best practices.
  • Prepare vision statements, use cases, technical specifications and requirements documentation for use by Software Development.
  • As directed, offer input to Product Support Services (PSS) for clients requiring technical assistance.
  • Assist with business case writing including carrying out competitive analysis required for new products.

  • Posses a degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering.
  • Ten (10) plus years of experience in road design, site/land development, and traffic analysis.
  • Familiarity with transportation infrastructure design such as parking, signage, highways, roads, intersection, interchanges, roundabouts, pedestrian, and bicyclist facilities and safety.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD, Civil3D (experience with MicroStation is an asset), and knowledge of key technical manuals, standards and guidelines applicable in Canada and/or the USA including TAC Geometric Design Guide, MUTCD, ITE guidelines and AASHTO Green Book.
  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills; Proven ability to communicate with effect; strong presentation skills, assert and speak and present with confidence, and ability to interact with customers and partners with confidence and conviction.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with different intrusted internal and external parties, building partnerships, influencing and managing conflicts, and the ability to navigate through competing priorities diplomatic and tactfully to deliver a desired effect.
  • Strong business acumen, optimistic with an ability to set goals, plan and manage projects and priorities, and understanding risk to reward concept.
